4 Musts to Include in Your Next Baby Shower Gift

4 Musts to Include in Your Next Baby Shower Gift

The most commonly gifted items at baby showers are diapers, wipes, clothing, and blankets. If you’ve ever had your own baby shower, you likely walked away—still grateful, of course—with a plethora of these four items and few other newborn essentials. Next time you attend a baby shower, help a mother out!
Rather than gifting the usual baby items, try this formula instead: something to snuggle, something to play with, something to read, and something mama doesn’t know she needs.

1. Something to Snuggle

Grab a plush stuffed animal, cotton lovey, or small security blanket (these usually come with an adorable animal head attached). Some unique brands are Warmies—soft animals that provide warmth and aromatic comfort—and Slumberkins—cozy creatures that promote emotional growth with a storybook and affirmations.

2. Something to Play With

It’s play time! Toys are important for babies’ development, even during the first three months of life. Add a teether or sensory toy to encourage this aspect of development for your new little friend.

3. Something to Read

You can never have too many bedtime stories! Here are a few book recommendations: God Gave Us You, On the Night You Were Born, Goodnight Moon, and Guess How Much I Love You. Personalize it with a short message on the inside cover. This makes for a meaningful keepsake as the baby grows!

4. Something Mama Doesn’t Know She Needs

How can you be sure what mama doesn’t know she needs? Double check her baby registry. Include an item not listed that you found helpful with your child(ren). Colic Calm or Colic Calm Plus are a hit at baby showers, especially with first-time moms.

Colleen wrote to us, “A co-worker gifted me Colic Calm Plus at a company baby shower and I was so thrilled! I’ve heard so many stories about babies with colic or gas, and it’s something I would’ve never thought of purchasing while I was pregnant. Now I can be prepared before my baby comes.”

To make the gift even more memorable, stick to a theme such as “Blue Elephants for Baby Boy." This particular gift would consist of a “Congratulations” card with an elephant character, elephant security blanket, blue teething toy, Welcome Little One board book, and premium CalmCo products: Colic Calm Plus, CalmCo Probiotic Drops, and CoraCue Immune Support* Multivitamin.

Happy gifting!
