Determining the Correct Dosage

One of the most recurring discussions on Colic Calm's Facebook Page, is that many customers are unsure of the correct dosage--they give their baby the first dosage, it didn't work, and they're unsure about giving a second, though it says it's okay to on the box. That's where Cyndra, Colic Calm's excellent customer service rep comes into play. To make life a little easier for you, I've put together her advice on one page so it's easy to view. is different so a little trial and error is sometimes needed. On the box is says to give up to 1/2 teaspoon but many babies find relief with just a 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon. I [Cyndra] would start out by giving Colic Calm on an "as needed basis", as the baby starts to cry. You do need to give it as quickly as possible. Once some babies get into a good crying jag nothing will bring them out of it. Don't be afraid to re-dose - Some babies need a little extra help in the beginning. Your 6 week old can have as much as 6 1/2 teaspoons a day but many babies find relief with 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon. For those with babies that have Infant Reflux: The reports on reflux relief have been stellar. It may require some trial and error on your part to figure out how to best keep your particular baby's system comfortable. Many parents who have had great success treating reflux tell us that their babies usually experience discomfort after feedings. Often the preferred method is 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon before each feeding (as a preventive measure), possibly followed by 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon after feeding (if baby is showing signs of discomfort after that feeding). This hybrid approach to preventing and treating on an "as needed" basis seems to be the most popular and effective. It may require some fine-tuning for your baby, however. Acid reflux medicines and Colic Calm can be used together. You should wait two hours before or after dosing your acid reflux medicine before administering Colic Calm. Some babies are able to discontinue their acid reflux medicines altogether. That is something you and your baby's pediatrician should discuss. Colic Calm helps with reflux by adsorbing the gas which can displace stomach contents back into the esophagus. And remember. . . Please don't get discouraged if there is not an instant miraculous improvement. It can take a few days for Colic Calm to work wonders, especially with older babies.
