"Unpacking” Why Fanny Packs are Better Than Diaper Bags

"Unpacking” Why Fanny Packs are Better Than Diaper Bags

Tired of lugging around an oversized diaper bag? Only to come home and realize you used 10% of what you packed...and you’re probably doing weird gymnastics positions trying to stretch out your back aches from the heavy lifting. We’ve been there, too!

Moms are taking a more minimalist approach to prepping for mama-and-baby outings. Fanny Packs are the new diaper bags! This small, trendy bag is finally making its way into motherhood culture—and for good reason.

The Joint recommends using a fanny pack to help avoid excess strain on your spine. Unlike traditional shoulder or backpack-style diaper bags, fanny packs take the load of your back (literally) so your posture is more suitable. This is especially beneficial when you need to carry your little one around!

Fanny packs also force you to only pack essentials since they’re smaller in size. If you’re like us, you’re probably thinking, “There’s no way I could fit my baby’s essentials in a fanny pack!” But we put it to the test.

One of our new moms packed all the necessities for an outing in her fanny pack...and came home with a content baby and no back aches.

Fanny Pack 3-12 Month Essentials

• 1 diaper (2-3 if you’ll be leaving the house for an extended time)

• Fruit & Veggie Pouch

• Teething ring

• Teether snacks or your child’s favorite munchies
